Black Futures audiobook free

This review is more about Amazons handling of the book rather than the book itself. Black Futures is a lovely collection of work on the contemporary black experience. Beginning in 2013, I found myself reliving and reviving feelings on so many events and art works that have happened since then. The most compelling thing is how it cements black people in the digital age, how social and digital mediums have interacted with and been used by black people. Truly amazing stuff, this book gives me, a black person a new perspective on how important black life in the digital age is. NOW, I ordered two copies of this book, one for me and one as a gift. I received one that was in A+ condition and the other was scratched so badly I thought it was in a catfight AND it had a sticky residue on it. EW. I asked for a replacement and received two more books and BOTH were dented and scratched up. For this kind of book, expensive and what I consider a major addition to my collection I wanted a pristine book. Seeing scratches on the matte black cover and the holographic lettering is just not cute and not a great coffee table addition. Perhaps buying from another retailer theres better care and youll get books in great condition. Im giving 3 stars ONLY because 1/4 of the books i received was in good condition and Im blaming Amazon for that not the authors.

Audiobook Black Futures by Jenna Wortham – editor Kimberly Drew – editor

Unique and unlike any other book I own, the book provides insights to the truths, experiences, triumphs and challenges of what it is like to be black in the universe through images and words. You\’ll read this in a different way, leaping in and out of it frequently, no start, no end, a continuous, beautiful collective – a modern history book. Kudos to Kimberly Drew and Jenna Wortham on the vision. This is beautifully bound and will look great on your coffee table, but more than a coffee table book. More than a conversation starter – it IS a conversation and an important one to have. What a collision of beauty and pain looks like.

Audio Black Futures narrated by Adenrele Ojo Bahni Turpin Dominic Hoffman Jenna Wortham Kevin R. Free Kimberly Drew Robin Miles

This is the perfect gift. the content is incredible I am so blown away. I am not surprised since Jenna Wortham is so good at synthesizing cultural revolutionary insight in general…. if you don\’t listen to her podcast, you should. it is called: Still Processing. This book is gorgeous also and is a perfect coffee table book.

Bought Black Futures for a birthday gift and couldnt help but flip through myself. This book is so much more than a coffee table book, but a gallery of experiences and musings. Gorgeous hardcover and unique varying page layouts create for an elevated, exploratory, and fun reading experience.
