Wuhan Diary: Dispatches from the Original Epicenter audiobook free

Poorly written, lacks details, insight and depth. More like blogs than personal diary entries. An opportunistic attempt to gain fame and money out of a pandemic situation.

Audiobook Wuhan Diary: Dispatches from the Original Epicenter by Fang Fang Michael Berry – translator

This diary is a fairly prosaic first-hand account of the situation in Wuhan in the lead up and through the coronavirus quarantine. It’s told through the eyes of the author, Fang Fang, whose perspective is informed by her broad network of friends and former classmates, including authors, professors, and doctors on the frontlines. It isn’t a polemic against the CCP, in fact it’s full of praise for efforts like the construction of Huoheshan hospital and the sense of community and selflessness that permeated the community and frontline during the outbreak. The controversy stems from the simple fact that it is a first-hand account out of China, and in some cases critical of the early response (including the go-ahead for a boneheaded gathering of 40K revelers well after the outbreak had started). Don’t be persuaded by the 1-star reviews and ad hominem attacks that are sure to flood in from the wumao brigade, salty that this account was published. Read it for yourself and decide. One bone to pick: $20 for the eBook?….

Her diary are composed mostly of heresy and lack any concrete evidence. Also, one has to wonder how her book came out so quickly in the US and Europe, at the same time or before it was published in China. Fang doesnt speak English or German and yet somehow it was translated almost instantaneously and made it to the book stand in the west , 2 months after Wuhans reopening. Anyone in the book publishing industry will tell you thats an impossible speed without premeditation. Premeditation… Makes one wonder if this wasnt simply a constructed, coordinated effort with anti Chinese forces in the west intent on smearing China. For those of you who still think that theres no freedom of speech in China, this is a perfect example of your misconceptions. Ironically, while claiming theres no free speech in China, her completely anti Chinese government book, with falsified information, was allowed to be published…
