**** I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review ****

I am a huge Melissa Foster fan, so when she announced that she had a bit of a darker series coming out I will admit I was skeptical. I am glad to say that I am pleasantly surprised. I LOVED this book. I thought as a shorter book than usual that it would feel rushed, but it doesn’t. It’s just as comfortable and complete as her usual novels with that extra erotic twist.

The alpha male is surprisingly tender but it doesn’t take away from his masculinity or dominating tendencies. Instead of an innately submissive woman, the lead woman is independent and thoughtful. There are several touching moments that happen in the book (I won’t share because you’ve got to read them to fully enjoy them) and while this is a HOT and STEAMY book, it shows the wonderful character development that I have always loved from Melissa Foster.

Expect needing a fan for the hot moments and a tissue for the emotional ones. It’s definitely an A++++

I have never fallen so far or so fast for a couple as I did for Heath and Ally. They are the hottest of lovers, the sweetest of partners and this was one of the best pay offs I’ve ever experienced at the end of a book. I laughed, I fanned myself a lot, and in the end, I cried with joy. Do yourself a favor and hop on one of the best emotional roller coasters a romance reader could ever hope for.

Review #3

Audiobook Wild Boys After Dark: Heath (Wild Boys After Dark #2) by Melissa Foster

I listened to the audio version of this book.
I was a fan of this book, but something seemed to be lacking. I’m no expert and I’m not even sure what it was, but I think maybe the character development was lacking a little. There was some family interaction, but it was pretty minimal. I guess I never really got a good handle on who Heath really was. He liked cats and women. And he was a doctor and a good son.
The hot stuff started right at the beginning of the book and continued throughout. Ally and Heath started out as a one night stand (don’t exchange any personal information, etc.). That sounds really hot…and it was. Them running into each other at a later date was great, because neither could stop thinking of the other.
Personally, I loved that Ally was a “lab tech”, because I was a Medical Technologist and did clinical lab work in hospitals for 23 years. What a surprise! It was a little misleading, because you don’t have time to sit down and visit with patients before you draw their blood. Also, Histo Techs do biopsies, not lab techs. I wish Ms. Foster had asked me! I know that’s ridiculous, but it would have been cool! It was still really neat that one of her main characters worked in the lab.
The narration by Robert Ashker Kraft was very good. Awesome voice and pacing was excellent.
I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book. All thoughts are my own.

Audio Wild Boys After Dark: Heath (Wild Boys After Dark #2) narrated by Robert Ashker Kraft

All the Wild brothers are so good looking. Add that with Heath being a doctor with kindness and love for his family pushing him over the top. I was sad that he had such a bad experience with his ex that all he wanted to do was have one night stands instead of a relationship with a woman. His favorite place to hook up was at medical conventions. That was where he met Allyson that he was going to have a one night stand. There is something about Allyson that Heath wanted more which totally surprised him. Allyson had two bad exs and was happy with a one night stand. The two ended up exchanging numbers and talked to each other. Little did they know that they would meet up again as they both lived in New York City and she worked in the lab at the hospital Heath used. It was interesting watching the two fall in love. I encourage you to read the book.

Heath is at an out of town medical conference when he meets Ally and they have a one night stand without exchanging last names or where they live. Ally is fine with that situation. Even though both feel that they have a connection that goes beyond the anonymous night they had. But little do they know that they live in the same city and work at the same hospital where he’s a doctor and she works in the lab. Now they aren’t anonymous and neither one can stop thinking about the other. I like how they get to know each other and he’s very thoughtful remembering things they talked about when they first met. This is the second book about the Wild brothers. I like the Wild brothers and I’m looking forward to the rest of the books.
