Drew Karpyshyn showed us a different part of the universe in the first book and the author takes everything to the next level with this book. The humans at first found an alien technology on the planet Mars. It was the kind of technology that no human has ever witnessed and after getting full control of it the humans also spread their wings in the entire galaxy.

As the humans explored the galaxy further they came face to face with new creatures which they thought never existed in the world before. One of those creatures proved to be of the deadly type and it at once started chasing human beings all around the galaxy. Fighting machines was never the strength of the humans and now an entire army of machines was like the summons of damnation for them.
David Colacci for a very long time in this book narrates about the cat and mouse game that begins in the universe. Humans don’t want to fight the aliens that are previously not known to them but the aliens have some kind of grudge for the humans as they want to tame them like pets. Creator of Dynasty of Evil and Path of Destruction has used his brilliance in every field in this series.

Whether it is the fight scenes or the scenes of running after the enemy, every scene is mesmerizing. New species which is described is never seen in literature before so the author has not taken any kind of help from other such books in his masterpiece. The development of a grudge between humans and aliens was a bit abnormal at the beginning but later everything ends well.
