I’m leaving 3 stars as a neutral review because I didnt finish the book so I cant review it as a whole.
I couldn’t get past the first few chapters. The male mc threatens the female mc by rubbing his gun all over her and telling her friends to stay away from his club. The friends are rightly scared and leave while female mc is still in his clutches (seriously, she needs better friends). Apparently she finds this a turn on, because he asks if she would let him do her with his gun since she finds it so sexy. She says yes, and he gives it to her with his gun (without unloading it) right there in front of her friends house and she apparently finds it hot (instead of, at the very least, rude) because she finishes in like 10 seconds.
Aside from the fact that on most handguns you have peep sights and a safety and other very not smooth objects that would make it very uncomfortable to shove up your lady bits, which makes this a little unrealistic imo, it just isn’t my cup of tea either.
Maybe this is the only scene like that and the rest of the book is the hot, sexy book I come to like in a MC novel, but I just couldn’t get beyond this scene and deleted the book from my library.

Despite this book having several negative reviews I decided to download it anyway. Neither of the main characters were likeable. He killed her father and then winked at her really? After meeting her the whole gun sex thing just no! Then her licking the other woman off of his fingers no no no… This story is not a romance at all and shouldn’t show up on that category. I will not be reading any other books in the series or from the author.

It’s always an exciting time when a new series starts and this one certainly starts with a bang!
While still very young, Brooke and Angel are left orphans when their sheriff father is killed. The person who is responsible is a fifteen year old prospect with the Soulless Bast*rds MC called Declan but there is a lot more to this story. The story continues years later…
Declan is the Vice President of the Soulless Bast*rds MC, he lives and breathes for his club where rules were made to be adhered to rigidly. His first impression of Brooke as a young woman is one that surprises him a bit but then she goes on to do this on a regular basis. They have a definite chemistry together and the fireworks between them certainly ignites however there is more intensity to their feelings.
Lurking behind in the background is something you can feel about to explode into action, the tension building up and the mystery is very intriguing and makes you sit on the edge of your seat. As with all MC clubs the brotherhood is strong and these characters all grow on you as you read along.
This is a fast paced book and extremely easy to read, after the last couple of books I have read it is like a breath of fresh air! I look forward to reading about Mayhem in the next book.

I think this first book of this new series is my favorite one yet by this author! Each of her books gets better, the stories get more in-depth and the characters become more “life like” than her previous works.
In this one, we have Declan, the VP of the Soulless Bastards, and his neighbor down the street, Brooke. Two broken people for two completely different reasons are drawn to one another. Because of a silly dare.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a gritty MC book unless there were bad guys (okay, guys worse than the club itself, because while they call themselves the Soulless Bastards, they’ve ALL got huge hearts!), lots of steamy times and angst that comes from an alpha man and a strong woman who calls him on his stuff. I totally loved this one and cannot wait to read more in this series!

This story starts with some violence, its something that leaves a lasting effect on both main characters. The plot is interesting and moves through the chapters without any unusual breaks or gaps in consistency, I loved how feisty and strong Brooke was, so very able to take on these tough bikers and she made me chuckle more than once. Declan was born and raised in the club, the violent side thrust onto him at a young age and more by threat than choice. He has made his life with no thought of leaving to do anything else. The sexual content is explicit but all in context to the story, and its hot. The first book in this new series is off to a fabulous start and has a few twists which kept me intrigued and glued to the pages. I am very much looking forward now to Mayhem’s book which is up next. For anyone who likes a no holds barred biker book then you should enjoy this, it does have some violence but it isn’t as full on as some and it contains everything else you expect in a book of this genre, I cant get enough of them.
