Mara Caldwell is a woman with a dark past and deadly secrets. But when her past finally catches up with her she’ll have to either run, or come clean about everything if she has any hope at all of keeping her husband and the rest of those she loves safe… Harrison is shocked and hurt when he learns of his wife’s former life and the fact that she didn’t trust him with the truth. If they have any shot at protecting Mara from a sadistic killer bent on revenge and her ultimate destruction though, they’ll have to work as a team… Now not only is their marriage on the line, but possibly their very lives.
FATAL DECEPTION is book 3 in the “Red Stone Security” series and I think will be more enjoyable if read in order since this couple first appears in book one. The story was unique in the fact that Mara and Harrison are already married, but seemed to focus more on their relationship woes and sex life rather than the action and suspense aspect. While I really liked Mara who didn’t act like the “ice queen” she was reported to be, I didn’t care much for Harrison who seemed like the colder one to me. I also don’t think his character was fleshed out enough, and never felt like I got to know him well. Then there was the villain who was a bit of a let-down and got taken out far too easily and efficiently. With that being said, the chemistry and connection between these two seemed to flow from the pages. Their love scenes were sexy and hot, and even included some light bondage. I also enjoyed the cameos by others from the first two books. Overall it was okay, but just not as engaging or suspenseful as I’d hoped for. I really like Ms. Reus’ writing though and look forward to reading the rest of this series =)

Audiobook Fatal Deception (Red Stone Security #3) by Katie Reus
Fatal Deception is another installment to the Red Stone Security series and this was as enjoyable as the others.
This one centers around Harrison & Mara Caldwell. Harrison and Mara were perfectly happy and in love until Mara’s past came crashing down. Now she’s determined to keep Harrison safe even if it means leaving him.
Just like the other novels this one had had lots of suspense and mystery and of course lots of romance. The bondage was well written and not overdone and of course consensual between them.
The story was great, well written and enjoyable. This series is highly recommended.

This is the third Caldwell brother who must fight to keep the strong woman he loves safe from her past, lies, and secrets. The language and sexual situations are not appropriate for young teenage readers. Read about the remaining two Caldwell brothers Porter and Grant in the other two books in the Red Stone Security Series.
