I loved this novel! I am pretty obsessed with reading about this time in our nation’s history. I really enjoyed Mrs. Lincoln’s Dressmaker, so I knew this would be good. It did not disappoint!

Mrs. Lincoln’s Sisters audiobook streamming online
Mrs. Lincoln\’s Sisters: A Novel was slow to start and I hate to write a bit boring. The book did not catch my attention, my mind wandered, and at times I lost track of the characters. I slogged on and as the book progressed the story became a bit more interesting and towards the end of the book I found the story interesting. Her book has different characters, flashbacks between historical periods based on chapter layout, allowing each sister tell part of the story. Recommend with caveats given.

Women aren\’t written about so who knew Mary had so many sisters. Each sister gets her chapter of fame. Nice read even with a difficult subject.

I am a big fan of Jennifer Chiaverini’s books and this one did not disappoint. You need to be interested in the Civil War period to appreciate this story even though it is fiction.

I hadn’t expected to enjoy this book as much as I did. Of course it is fiction but gave a wonderful telling, based on excellent research, of not just the story of Mary Lincoln, but more accurately, that of her sisters; placing the story in time and place that were so readily understandable. I think this is the first time, while reading a book, I have thought”this would make a wonderful movie (if done right).
