HOLY COW THAT WAS GOOD. This was so much better than I couldve hoped for. I really, really loved it. When I read something by a new author, I never know what to anticipate so I kept my expectations low and went in blind. This did NOT disappoint. Its not your typical hot jock/shy nerd sex tutor romance. While its unashamed of its level of heat, it also has a slow emotional burn that focuses on so much more than just the physical between these two. The level of depth the author managed to put into this relationship blew me away, and I was rooting for Austin and Elizabeth to find happiness together.

The story follows Elizabeth, a smart, introverted college student from a wealthy family. Her confidence has been blown to pieces from years of being told shes not normal, so she finds relationships difficult and physical intimacy impossible. Deciding to take matters into her own hands, she researches which guy on campus would be the best option to help tutor her on all things sex-related. Knowing that hes strapped for cash, doesnt get emotionally attached to the girls he sleeps with, and selfless in bed, Elizabeth makes Austin an offer that will change both their lives.

The writing is really great, but its the emotion that drew me in. Though they present themselves to the world extremely differently, Austin and Elizabeth have a lot of the same underlying insecurities. They connect on a level neither one expected, and nothing about their relationship feels like a transaction. Its nuanced and complicated so well done by the author. If you like New Adult romance or any romance really READ THIS BOOK. This ones going to stay in my mind for a long time to come. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I was recommended this book by a friend that I truly trust with all things. This is an author I have never read, but it is new adult and Teddy Hamilton narrates the audio. Those 2 things I almost always say yes to. This book is super cute. The female heroine Elizabeth is so wonderfully smart and awkward. She was not able to make friends on her own so she does it in her own way. She also has a very logical mind which I truly relate to.
She is uncomfortable around all the opposite sex. So she decides to look at this from a statistical point of view. Find someone with experience that can help teach her to be more comfortable with the opposite sex and to get rid of that nasty virginity problem she has. It doesn’t hurt that is is also a guy she has been crushing on and is also her perfect idea of a guy.
Austin is all the things you expect from the hot football player everyone wants. He doesn’t do girlfriends. He is hot can get anyone he wants and does. At first he says no to her proposition then things change and he goes for it. He is the perfect counterpart to get Elizabeth out of her head. The story is more than surface level and ends up diving deeper than expected, but still very well done.
My favorite part is he is so accepting of who she is eccentricities any all. The next part I love is that the don’t make the hot Barbie girl an a&$hole. They could have easily made her the bad guys. I adore that they made her a smart supportive character that is able to forgive. Elizabeth is pushed out of her comfort zone but in the end she ends up exactly where she is supposed to be.

Audiobook So, That Got Weird (So Far, So Good #1) by Amelia Kingston

Get your popcorn ready and prepare for an all nighter. I hesitated adding this book to my library. The book’s title, clinical and detached doesn’t do it justice. But I was delightfully surprised when I started reading and realized not only can you not judge a book by it’s cover, the same applies to the title. So glad I picked this one. Been a long time, since I enjoyed such a moving story.

I won’t spoil the plot and talk about characters but just highlight what made it so good.

1) The author doesn’t rush the story and takes time to build the plot

2) Foreplay is used brillantly to hold the reader’s attention

3)Complex characters that bloom as the story progresses

4) Happy ending -no cliffhanger here!!!!!

I will definitely add this author to my list of not to miss. Happy reading

Audio So, That Got Weird (So Far, So Good #1) narrated by Elizabeth Hart Teddy Hamilton

I am so happy I stumbled across this! I was looking at available review books on NetGalley and saw the author’s second book that is releasing next month. After requesting it, I decided to purchase this book just to get the first in the series. It was absolutely amazing! Honestly, when I read the blurb I wasn’t quite sold, but after looking at other reviews, I decided I had to give it a chance. Austin and Elizabeth’s story did not disappoint. There are certainly a lot of steamy moments, but the best part was the banter between Austin and Elizabeth and the enormous truckload of emotions in this novel. It’s raw, real, and doesn’t try to shy away from anything. Kingston’s characterization is so incredible that you feel will all of the apprehension, fear, joy, sadness, anger, and so on right along with the characters. There are times that it was honestly a little uncomfortable because I felt so transported into the story. This book deserves much more than five stars. Do not pass this one up!

I started getting the 5-star tingles pretty much right away with this book. I did it by audiobook, and the narrators did a fabulous job, securing all of those stars. Fake relationships is a favorite trope of mine, and obviously this one didn’t disappoint. Besides the amazing chemistry between our main characters, there was fun banter, and good side characters, there was an emotional component that I wasn’t expecting. Both characters had backgrounds that made them real to me, gave me some depth to connect to. All around, a very good story by a new to me author that I would be happy to read of. And as I already said, pick up the audiobook if you’re a listener, you won’t be disappointed.
