Seriously??????????? Can I give this book a gazillion stars?? I can’t begin to tell you how good this was. I have read it in one go because I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading. Never mind my husband and my child, they had to fend for themselves.
The feels, OMG, the feels. So much happens in this book. We learn so much about Zylas.
If I wasn’t already over the top in love with him I would be now for sure.
But I’ve got to tell you, I went though all the emotions, and I almost died a couple of times. From a heart attack. Ms. Marie knows how to bring forth every emotion known to man.
I vowed I wouldn’t say anything spoilery, but for the hard core fans of this series I will say this: YES the thing that everyone has been waiting for finally happens. And it’s SUBLIME. And it’s everything you would have wanted and more. AND I nearly died again of the feels. And I will stop here, although I am having a hard time not raving like a lunatic.
P.S. Last night after I finished the book my husband was a very very happy man :)))))))))))))

What to love: great writing, great plot, great story (the whole series)
What is frustrating/idiotic: very little character development, very little intelligence happens, heroine is still a wimp AND stupid even after 3 books.

You would think a mildly intelligent being would arm themselves and learn some self defense instead of ignoring every survival skill homo sapiens has ever happened upon, knowing fully well that she is in an illegal contract, people are out to murder her, enemies are everywhere (humans and demons) for 3 entire books. There are plenty of fight scenes that our heroine gets into but just stands there and cries, gasps, and waits for somebody to rescue her. After 3 books of this behavior I am finding that she is too stupid to live.

She doesn’t dress appropriately for missions (even though she has been told to), she doesn’t even think to arm herself with the very least a knife, doesn’t think about more defense spells (I think she has like, 2?) and doesn’t bother to use those spells all that often. She just stands there and stares at the monsters fighting. Oh come on honey, you can at least pick up a rock and throw it a demon. She’s completely helpless and infantilized – even teenagers know how to throw a rock FFS. It’s like she’s 5 years old until all of a sudden she’s an adult with sexy chemistry towards her demon.

While I like most of the characters in the story, I do not like Robin. She’s too one dimensional.

Audiobook Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped (The Guild Codex: Demonized #3) by Annette Marie

I don’t even know where to start! This book was everything I wanted it to be and more! The pace it set was blistering and the scenes between Robin and Zylas are so heartfelt. Honestly, there were times I just had to sit my kindle down because of the raw emotion Annette somehow out into words. I don’t want to give any huge spoilers, but I wanna say I hadn’t even known how badly I needed an Ezra/ Robin/Zylas team up. They worked so well together! Another thing I will say is I was so incredibly proud of Robin! She broke through her barriers, that comfortable mold she had built for herself. And be still my heart, she was so bold! Final thoughts? I love strawberries and you can never go wrong with chocolate and caramel I cannot wait for the final book and the completion of the Guild Codex series, but a part of me isn’t sure I’ll be okay after the last book is out. The way Annette has brought these characters to life and made their stories so profoundly crucial in her reader’s lives, it is truly awe inspiring.

Audio Hunting Fiends for the Ill-Equipped (The Guild Codex: Demonized #3) narrated by Cris Dukehart

It is no secret that I love these books, and I will gush over them to anyone, anywhere, at anytime. Every book just gets better. Have you ever gotten an adrenaline rush while reading a book? No? You’ve been reading the wrong books, let me introduce you to Annette Marie and her pure, undiluted genius.

I’m telling you, at the end of every single freaking chapter I would pause, (usually for reasons other than actually wanting to pause,(ie, kids and work/food delivery *eye roll*)), and just think to myself, “I have so many questions…”

Then I’d get to the next chapter and some of those questions would be answered, and yet I’m still over here thinking, “I have so many questions…”, and that’s how went for twenty eight chapters. I audibly gasped several times. I also, frequently, found myself literally bouncing in place with all the emotions racing through my veins so energetically that they had to be released SOMEHOW.

This was really inconvenient while I was waiting in restaurant lobbies for food to be prepped for delivery to hungry people. I’m pretty sure I got some funky side eye from other patrons, not that I know this because my eyes were glued to the effing page.

There were unexpected delights in this, and twists that leave me very concerned for the future of the series, (as in the FINALE of this series). And mostly I didn’t have a full on panic attack because I know that Robin and Zylas have one more book before their story is done. So, just remember that when it gets stressful. There is one more book, so they have to pull through, right? Right??? OMG please let them pull through for the next book?!?!

Thankfully, I have read all of Annette’s work, and so… I trust her… mostly. I trust her to fix all the things, and answer all the questions, and make it all work… even through right now I’m freaking scared out of my mind about it all. Seriously… so. many. questions.

And now, I wait until July for the next Guild Codex release, because I definitely need to know what the hell happened on the other side of this coin while Robin was becoming an even more extreme badass. I’m so proud of her. I’m going to be processing this for DAYS, maybe weeks. Probably weeks. I’ll be rereading this again soon, because there is so much. This world is so rich, and the story line is so RICH. It’s interwoven beautifully. These books are easy to read, they read really fast, and there is such depth to them in the midst of the action that you can’t help but love it all completely.

Man.. I am just so in love with this series. So much that I wanted to happen, HAPPENED.

Im just in love with the story, the pace, and how its told. Robin is at times frustrating in her fears.. but shes so human and reasonable even with crippling fears. If she hadnt done the NO SPOILER thing this book I would have wanted to just.. shave her dang head. Im so invested in this characters its not even funny.

I have no idea how Im gunna wait til September for the next book, UGH!
